that's about the only thing i just can not get past.

Advertising campaign for District Conventions

things must really be bad.

usually the advertisement for the district conventions are a few lines long, but this year they've laid it on as thick as ever!

witnesses invite all to "follow the christ".

Why go if Christ is not your savior anyway? According to the Witnesses, he is ONLY the Savior for the 144,000, and that's about it, if I'm up to date on their latest theology.

If I'm right, according to them, you can't get into paradise unless Christ deems you worthy. You are just NOT assured of that. To be deemed worthy you have to put in so many hours per month, and if you don't you are "questionable" and other PEOPLE, who are not fit to judge in the first place, will determine whether you are going to get into paradise or not, and determine whether you are "fit" to get into the paradise.

Not happening. The only thing that Christ demands of me is to admit I'm a sinner, and accept him as my savior. The rest is up to me.

MOUTHY NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS AND/OR SUPPORT

our dear mouthy is really having a tough time right now and needs our support and/or prayers.

as some of you may know, she's already lost 3 of her children in death and the other one to the borg.

in the last couple of days, she's had to worry about her 2 year old great-granddaughter being in the hospital with an illness and yesterday, her daughter had a suspicious mole removed from her back and was told there is a lump in her breast which has to be biopsied.

Need some Gardening Tips

i just finished hoein' the garden bed, loose soil and all.

i have bought 4 bags of lily bulbs, each bag has 6 bulbs each.

i have sought info in regards to gardening from various people, but the main question i have not been able to get answered is whether or not any kind of weed killer (chemical or otherwise) can harm lilies if i sprayed on them by accident?

Herbicide will kill your lillies. Even if you use a piece of cardboard to protect them while you spray weeds around them, the herbicide gets into the roots of the weed, and could touch one of the roots of your lilly plants, and kill them, too. The best bet is just to hoe the weeds carefully while the plants are still young, and then when about 12" tall, carefully put mulch throughout the bed. It's pretty easy when you have mulch. You still have to weed, but they pull right out easily, and there's not as many of them.

the nt writers, when they quote the ot, mainly do so from the lxx, the septuagint.

a majority of the ot quotations in the nt are in fact from the septuagint, only a minority from hebrew.

when the nt writers do use a hebrew text it generally isnt the masoretic text, but another form of the hebrew text.

Didn't Christ clear that up already? He said that there's only two laws. Any other interpretation is a waste of time, and a waste of BAND SPACE.

Does the gag order apply to the defendants, plaintiffs, and lawyers, ABOUT the case; or does it just apply to the settlement agreement between the Plaintiffs and the WTB&TS?

Pulmonary embolism

i just found out through the grapevine that my brother had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot went into his lung and almost killed him) a couple of weeks ago.

he's ok now, and the doc has him on blood thinners, which he'll need for the rest of his life, to keep it from happening again.

it's pretty amazing that he survived, as these things are usually only diagnosed during autopsies, it's not too often people survive them.

But really sorry to hear about your brother! Hope he gets to feeling better.

Demons in my Tupperware?

hi ya'll - this subject might've been addressed before, but i missed it if it was.

my daughter and i were talking the other day about how it's taught by the witnesses that anything one might buy from a yard sale, garage sale, or ebay(lol) - could be 'infected' with demons.

when dd was studying, the sister told her a first-person account that a tupperware bowl she'd bought at a garage sale that supposedly wreaked havoc in her home - she was physically attacked by an incubus-type demon - and it all stopped when she threw away that plastic bowl.. perhaps the best defense against them is indifference... i don't know.
